This was my first real day “back at a computer” after spending some time in Europe after the RC batch. I set a goal of wanting to clean up my office before starting a new gig this week which sent me down a bit of a spiral of wanting to get my etsy shop caught up to date with inventory – I had made a lot of earrings for Valentine’s day and holiday markets that hadn’t made it to etsy yet. I figured while I was cleaning up the earrings I should go ahead and get them uploaded, too.
That ended up being more of a commitment than I was hoping. Some of my authentication code got lost due to having a new computer and hidden / uncommitted code, and I had a number of new pendant and ear wire shapes that I hadn’t already inventoried.
Getting things back on track was a bit of a journey! Now I have functioning authentication code but my code that uploads listings still needs a bit of love. Etsy has some pretty strict anti-scraping protections and the API is not fully featured so I have to run a janky JS script after the listing is created to add secondary field data.
I don’t love how this is set up right now, but maybe room for improvement another day!
